We have a full-time, Machine Operator | Parts Loader opportunity on our first shift, scheduled Monday - Friday, from 5:30 AM- 2:00 PM .  We will consider entry-level to experienced applicants with a strong interest in the manufacturing industry. We operate both manual and Computer Controlled multi-axis lathes and machining centers. This position will be responsible for interpreting prints and specifications while monitoring and inspecting parts to ensure they conform to specifications.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Ability to read English and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to operate a computer for logging time, data collection and pulling procedures.
  • Ability to follow directions, work independently, and solve practical problems.
  • The ability or aptitude to read blue prints and use precision measuring tools / instruments.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, stand, and walk during the shift.

We have a flexible schedule internship opportunity available in our Machine Shop.  We will consider those students that will have completed their first year of a machine and tool program by May of 2018. We operate both manual and Computer Controlled multi-axis lathes and machining centers. 1st shift runs from 5:00 AM-2:30 PM Monday - Friday and 2nd shift runs 2-1:30 AM Monday- Thursday.   Interns will work full time from May-August on either 1st or 2nd shift with potential opportunities to work part time during the school year. Inventory Clerk

JOB OBJECTIVE STATEMENT

The primary objective of the Inventory Clerk is to provide materials to designated locations as scheduled and/or requested through the Inventory Supervisor. A second objective is to ensure NTE’s inventory is highly accurate.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receive shipments from suppliers. Unpack, ensure shipment matches purchase order and log into the NTE inventory computer system.
  • Places materials in appropriate locations (Stock Shelves, Lifts, etc)
  • Create kits for production orders
  • Replenish Kan-Ban Bins
  • Fills Parts Requests orders
  • Compiles and maintains records of quantity, and type, of material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies stocked in establishment: Counts material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies in stock and posts totals to inventory records, manually or using computer.
  • Creates and posts movement and transfer journals (ex: for Kan Bans, Parts Requests)
  • Assist with periodic Inventory Cycle Counting (to ensure accuracy of the inventory)
  • Notify Inventory Supervisor of discovered inaccuracies
  • Follow all NTE policies, procedures and applicable laws
  • Work overtime as requested by supervisor
  • Recognize and comply with all safety rules. Hearing and Eye protection will be worn when required.
  • Promote continual improvement culture
  • Other duties as assigned

COMPETENCIES

  • Maintain a high level of physical energy during the work day as the tasks of moving materials from location to location demand this
  • A high level of skill for attention to details is a must since the production scheduling process is highly dependent on the accuracy of inventory.
  • Reading and logistical skills must be strong.
  • Will be required to work non-traditional hours, including nights and weekends during periodic inventory counting activities.
  • Proactive communication skills and follow through on assignments
  • Demonstrate basic PC skills (ex: e-mail, Inventory Management System)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Creates and maintains ERP production data
  • Creates and maintains production schedules for NTE Manufacturing and Prototype activities, while balancing demand of a rolling Sales and Marketing forecast
  • Determines daily production schedules based on production demand, engineering plans, plant capacity, availability of parts, and manpower requirements. Readjusts schedules according to production progress, change orders, or other delaying conditions. Coordinates with product owner to determine status of assigned projects.
  • Requires ability to understand engineering documents and work closely with members of the engineering team to plan and deliver prototypes and production parts. Documents overall material needs, including purchased and manufactured information necessary to process prototype and production orders.
  • Updates ERP system parameters for new items to ensure that procurement and planning requirements are accurately calculated
  • Monitors materials inventories and analyzes data to maintain on safety stock levels and buffers (store sizes)
  • Analyzes information and presents findings utilizing spreadsheets, charts, graphs and reports relating to inventory, fill rates and other critical manufacturing work flow business issues
  • Works with Business Systems Team and other groups to solve problems and implement opportunities to improve Microsoft Dynamics AX processes
  • Acts as liaison between Engineering, Sales and Marketing and Manufacturing team members
  • Assists Inventory team and accounting in resolution of inventory and purchase order discrepancies
  • Follows all NTE policies, procedures and applicable laws
  • Will work overtime as requested by supervisor

The Ideal Candidate Profile We Are Seeking:

  • Maintain expertise in MRP systems knowledge and recommend new procedures to enhance the performance of the planning and scheduling system experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX - preferred
  • Knowledge of purchasing, master planning, inventory management, and transactional entries preferred
  • Strong knowledge and skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint, or equivalent software utilized for workflow management outside of Microsoft Dynamics AX
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and documentation
  • Ability to work directly with both internal organizations and suppliers
  • Highly effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational skills and detail orientation
  • Able to manage multiple priorities & meet deadlines
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States of America.
